Aya Abdulkarim, MSc, MACP

Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)

Aya completed a Master of Science degree in Neuroscience and Mental Health from King's College London and a Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience and Mental Health (Honours) at Carleton University, Ottawa. Aya also completed  a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. While pursuing her education, Aya worked at a family physician's medical clinic (5+ years) and assisted in different roles with family physicians and patients clients that encountered mental health services with their practice; this provided an opportunity to engage with diverse individuals from different cultures, immigration journeys and new refugees. In addition, Aya worked in a chronic pain clinic as a peer support for individuals seeking help and guidance in mental health from 2021-2022.  Aya completed her practicum training at Ottawa Psychotherapy Services under the supervision of Shelley Briscoe-Dimock PhD, RP, RSW, RMFT-SM. Aya works with individuals, couples and families. Aya provides services in both English and Arabic.
